During my childhood, most of us grandchildren assisted our grandmother in her garden during the summer months. In return for our labor, she would generously provide us with a substantial meal and an abundance of love and blessings. As the summer season concluded, we engaged in activities such as shucking corn, snapping beans, and peeling purple hull peas. My grandmother also canned peaches, plums, and other fruits and vegetables. We all collaborated to complete these tasks. After Sunday services, we would gather together to enjoy the fruits of our labor, savoring the delectable produce that had been cultivated on our own land. With our own hands. The passion for the finer things in life never waned. This same passion fuels everything I do. I’ve always wanted to help people and the planet.
At an early age, I grew up working in my godfather’s masonry business. Over the years, we worked side by side.
